TRIPLE STORY HOUSE

I finally finished my 3 Story House and I am quite happy with the end result, although I am certain there is much room for improvement. This triple story was designed on a mountain slope, I dug my foundations and laid it level, instead of stepping the foundation. I incorporated lots of glass and alluminium, as well as a huge marble wall that costs a fortune, but it is so worth it as a feature in any home.

I have beautiful views all around the house therefore, I have so many balconies and exits points, so that we can enjoy the clean mountain air, and river breeze throughout the day. As the society we live in today is so corrupted, we find ourselves imprisoned in our own homes, therefore it is important that we design our homes according to the way we want to live. Lots of glass windows and doors allows for fresh air to flow through the house, and for us to enjoy the outdoors either from our balconies, terrace or garage roof top, or we could simply picnic in our own secluded forest in our backyard. Fabulous design I love it:)

Recreational Centre

Mitchell's Plain Recreational Centre was for an Olympic Bid for 2020.

I decided to take existing Recreational Centres that has the potential to grow into amazing opportunities for others, and upgrade the buildings and supply them with building materials, sporting equipment, and basically re arrange what they already have and make it work in a structured manner, that could bring in an income every month.

I tried to make the building as safe as possible as it had a lot of access points for thugs to enter into the Centre. We then included this high 5m boundary wall all around the entire space, which was huge, but also made the space really safe for parents to leave there kids at, to participate in events.

I left Fencing infront so it never felt to much like a jail, although the boundary wall secured all access points from the outside. I utilised this wasted space by adding, an Olympic size pool, upgrading there ball and food court. I seperated spaces in a way that they could still communicate with eachother.

My aim for doing this project was so that we could see the effect that one of these upgrades has on the communities, and therefore move into more degraded areas and uplift there Recreational Centres. This benefit will not only create a better community but also create job opportunities for those around the area.

Business Lodge

My Business Lodge is a warm comfortable space in which people can stay when they travel the world.
The space can be used as a self service bed and breakfast, as well as a office, as the rooms are fully equipped with office materials, such as computers, drawing desks etc. The entire interior of the house is designed to impress clients. The space is also large enough for meetings to be held at.

Archicad-Can't believe I done this in 2days:)

We had to complete this training guide, and by doing so completing this huge building that I found very intimidating just by looking at it. The training guide consists of 10 chapters that has to be completed.

And i thought I would literally take a month to finish, because that was the time most students got to complete the task..

But yeah I guess if you really want something you can achieve it.

Here are rendered pics of the building.

This is merely the beginning of my Archicad adventures:) Super excited

Yoga Lounge-Wellness Centre

The Yoga lounge is a Wellness centre I designed, we had to find an actual space that was To let, as well as measure and redesign the actual building. I designed the logo and presentations on Coral draw and the plans were done on Revit.

This is a small portion of my design concept.

The Poets Platform-Miriam Makeba

This was one of my first year assignments, when I had to design a small Amphitheatre for people to enjoy.

This design was very playful with the use of glass and steel to bring the building to life. This building was correctly proportioned according to all anthropometrics and ergonomics rules and regulations, as well as taking into consideration the accoustics of the building.

Below is one portion of  the presentation.
